WADF 2D

A detailed description of this judging system can be found in the World Artistic Dance Federation regulations.

Elimination round

In elimination rounds, judges evaluate each performance in two dimensions:

  • A - Artistry
  • T - Technique

For each dimension, judges decide which performances should advance to the next round by giving crosses (X). The number of crosses to give is automatically calculated based on the number of performances in the round or set by the scrutineer or chairman.

Later on, performances with the largest number of crosses across both dimensions are qualified for the next round.

Final round

In the final round, judges rank each performance in two dimensions:

  • A - Artistry
  • T - Technique

For each dimension, judges assign a unique place from 1 to the number of performances in the round.

Later on, the final rank is calculated using skating system based on both dimensions.
